We let the kids dye Easter eggs.  They each had 12 eggs to dye.  They both had lots of fun and didn't make a mess! :)

Time for Crawfish!

April 3, 2010
I have been craving some crawfish!!!  We decided to have a mini crawfish boil at the house.  Boy, that's a lot of work...but totally worth it!  Our friends, Erich and Jennifer and little Luke, came over to join in on the fun.  The crawfish were perfect.  Our sweet husbands did such a good job! Can't wait 'til the next one!

Our sweet little girl had no fear when it came to the crawfish.  She was picking them up without any hesitation.  Must be that Louisiana blood in her! :)

Yes, We Too Have A Ruby Girl!

April 1, 2010
While digging for our garden, we came across several earthworms.  The first thing Lily asked was..."Can I touch it?"  So, of course I told her that she could.  Little did I know just how much she was going to enjoy touching it!  I now feel very sorry for that poor little worm.  By the time she was through playing with him, he was in several pieces.  But, I do think he might have still been alive...maybe?

For some reason, she thought it was very funny to put the worms in between her toes!

After playing with the worms, I immediately brought her straight to the bathtub for a good scrubbing!

Our First Garden

April 1, 2010
The day has finally come!!!  Lily has been wanting to plant tomatoes since last summer.  And, believe me, we have been hearing about it since last summer!  So today was a big day for her.  This morning we went to Lowe's and Wal-Mart and bought everything we needed for our garden.  I did not realize there are so many different types of tomatoe plants!  We ended up buying 5 different types of tomatoes, green and red bell pepper and a watermelon plant.  This afternoon we all went outside and worked on our first garden.  When I was putting Lily to bed tonight, she asked me if she could eat one of her tomatoes in the morning.  This waiting game might be a hard lesson to learn.  But, I did tell her that we would check on our plants in the morning to see if they are growing.

We decided to plant our tomatoes in totes!  Hope this works!

Lily's Preschool Easter Party

March 31, 2010
Today was Lily's class Easter party at school.  The party started with an Egg Hunt.  The kids were allowed to find 6 eggs each.  After the Egg Hunt, we then went back to our classrooms for an Easter snack and games.

This is a picture of the kids sitting on the steps waiting to begin the Egg Hunt.

We were so happy that Maw Maw decided to come and visit for a few days.  While she was here, we did lots of shopping! :)  She was also able to attend Lily's Easter party at school.  Lily loved having her at school!

Weekend with the Martin's

March 27, 2010
This weekend our wonderful friends made the long drive from Ruston to visit us!  The weekend was filled with shopping, golf and a whole lot of talking and laughing.  Life is so sweet when spending time with old friends!

The Ice-Cream Man

March 26, 2010
Today Lily and I were in the front playing when I heard music from an ice-cream truck.  This is the first time since moving in our house that I have seen an ice-cream truck on our street.  I told Lily what it was, so of course she wanted some.  I waved the man to stop and Lily ran to the truck.  There were so many different ice-creams to choose.  But, loving strawberries like her mama, Lily chose the Strawberry Shortcake ice-cream pop.  Oh, and her daddy had to get one too! :)  They both enjoyed their ice-cream very much and they did give me one bite!

Preschool Field Trip

March 25, 2010
Lily's preschool class went to CiCi's Pizza in Kingwood for a field trip.  This field trip was so much fun!  When we got there, the manager had a long table set up for the kids.  The kids chose a sit and then the manager gave each child their own personal sized pizza.  The pizza already had the cheese and sauce, but the kids got to put pepperoni's on their pizza.  It was then time for the pizza's to cook.  While they were in the oven, the kids went on a guided tour of how everything works at CiCi's.  After the tour, the kids returned to their table and the pizza was ready to eat.  Lily ate one slice but wanted to bring the rest home.  I am so sad to say that I forgot my camera on this special day :(  But, thanks to a few very sweet moms, I do have a few pics.

Hello, Easter Bunny!

March 23, 2010
This is Lily's first picture ever with the Easter Bunny.  In years past, we have always taken Easter pictures with live bunnies.  This year, Lily was so excited about the idea of having her picture made with him.  She wanted to dress up and look pretty for him.  Well, that excitement lasted until the moment she saw him.  As we turned the corner, she immediately froze in her tracks!  She was not moving another step and started calling for her daddy, who was not with us.  I will just say this, it look a very long time and a whole lot of bribing to get her to even stand next to him.  And as you can see, the Easter Bunny had to keep his hands crossed in his lap.  She wanted nothing to do with him touching or holding her.  Thank goodness, no one else was waiting in line.  After our Easter Bunny visit we then went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and ice-cream, as promised!

Lily, posing pretty :)
