Lunch for Mommy

Today I was taking a bath and Lily was playing in the bathroom. Out of the blue Lily said, "I'm going to make you lunch"...and she was off. I assumed she was going to make me a gourmet meal with her plastic food, like she normally does. But instead, she surprised me! When I opened the bathroom door, she was standing there with the lunch she had prepared. She had fixed me a cup of water, she had opened a slice of cheese and she had goldfish crackers all on a dinosaur plate. Seeing this brought a huge smile to my face. She was so proud of herself for being such a big girl. We shared the meal she had prepared and it was delicious!

This Could Have Been Much Worse!

Thursday, I was on the floor loving on Penny and I felt Lily put something on the top of my head...in my hair. She had been playing with 2 quarters that she had taken from her daddy's coin cup, so I assumed that she had put a quarter on my head. I moved my head and the quarter didn't fall out, so I immediately asked Lily what was in my hair. Her response was, "It's stuck!" I reached and felt and my heart dropped!!! My sweet darling had put her gum IN MY HAIR! I wanted to start crying right then! But instead, I started to pull on the gum very gently and the gum pulled right out...with no evidence being left behind! I could finally breath again! Apparently, Lily had enough of her spit in the gum to where it wasn't as sticky as it should have been. God was definitely watching out for me!!! Needless to say, we had a really long talk about gum!

Cousins

January 13, 2010
Lily and her sweet cousin, Lauren
Christina and Lauren flew down from Maryland to visit for a few days. Lily loved having her cousin here to play with.

Lily's Big Girl Bed

One of Lily's Christmas presents this past year was a big girl bed. She was very
excited about this! Being 3 and wishing she was a princess, she insisted on princess covers. So as you can see, our Princess Lily got her wish!

Our Penny Girl

August 16, 2009
This is the day we brought Penny home. We thought and researched long and hard on what kind of dog would best fit our family. We decided a Pembroke Welsh Corgi would be just perfect. We bought her from a breeder in Magnolia, TX. Little did I know how much fun was in store for me with having a puppy! But, I survived...and now our Penny is definitely part of the family!

September 2009
Lily treated Penny like a little doll.

The Beginning

Well, creating a blog is something I thought I would never do. But, a very good friend has convinced me that I would truly LOVE it once I begin...so here I go!

A little background...My husband and I are originally from Louisiana. We both attended Louisiana Tech University. He happened to catch my eye one day...and our love story began :) We were married in December of 2000 in Maui, Hawaii. We had to make the decision of where in the Houston area we wanted to live, so we chose Pearland...but for no particular reason. God blessed us with a beautiful baby girl on May 9, 2006. Her name is Lily Marie and she is our little miracle! We lived in Pearland for almost 9 years. While there, we made wonderful, lifelong friends. In May of 2009 we moved to Porter, TX. Making this move further north allowed us to be a little closer to "home". Billy has been working for Centerpoint Energy for 10 1/2 years. I am currently teaching part-time at Children's First School. This is also where Lily attends 3 year old preschool.
