Mr. Toad

September 27, 2010
When it comes to God's little creatures, Lily loves them all!  This week she found a little frog hiding by our back door.  Well, she insists that it's not a frog, it's a toad.  And that's exactly what she named him, Mr. Toad.  This little guy stayed by the door for several days and Lily played and played with him.  He brought her so much joy!  It was so sweet...the other night duing our bedtime prayers, Lily said a little prayer for Mr. Toad.  This is what she said:  Jesus, I pray you watch over Mr. Toad so that he will be there for me to catch when I get home from school tomorrow.  Amen!  You've gotta love a child's heart!

Our Stray

September 15, 2010
I found this sweet little pup in the parking lot at my school.  He did not have a collar and he looked very hungry.  Not wanting him to get hit, I had to bring him home.  Lily and I fell in love with him.  He is the sweetest dog I have ever met!  Well, Princess Penny did not like the idea of sharing her castle!  She definitely tried to let him know that she was in charge.  So, I had to find a new home for him.  As silly as it may sound, I became attached to this dog very quickly.  I cried many tears over having to give him away.  But, I did find a very good home for him.  My Pre-K partner had been praying for a dog...so it was a perfect match!  Thank you Jesus for answered prayers!

First Day of Pre-K

September 13, 2010
Lily is now attending Christian School of Kingwood.  Due to moving into a new building, the start of school was pushed back one week.  Her teacher is Mrs. Sanchez.  There are 9 kids in the class, 5 girls and 4 boys.  Lily's school hours are 8:30-1:30.  I usually drop her off in the morning about 7:20.  She plays in Extended Care until the start of the school day.  Due to my wonderful half day job, I am always there at 1:30 to pick her up.  We are amazed everyday of just how much she is learning.  We are very blessed to have such a great school and teacher for our baby girl!

I was very sad that I could not take Lily to school on her first day.  I got her dressed, but it was her daddy's job to take the pictures and bring her to school.

I Wanna Dance With My Baby!!!

August 2010
Lily is officially a dancer!  She is taking ballet, tap and tumbling at Stacey's Dance Studio in Kingwood.  Right now she is going every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30.  She LOVES it!  She also thinks she must have McDonald's after her very intense workout!

These two pics are from her first day of dance class.

Posing so pretty!

Beach Fun in Galveston

We made some really sweet friends last school year at Children's First School.  Lily and I were invited to a fun play date with Jace and his mom.  They have a house on the beach in Galveston...so much fun! :)

Our Penny Girl

July 2010
Penny has found 2 new favorite places to relax.

She loves to rest on my basket on this blanket.  And she really loves when I open the window.

She also loves to lay on the back of the sofa.  She has fallen off a few times...but that hasn't stopped her.  And as you can see, she likes to stick out her tongue! :)

Fourth of July

July 4, 2010
This year we spent the Fourth of July hanging out at home with the neighbors.  We had a great time!  Later that night we popped fireworks.

Daddy Is Very Proud

Today when Lily and I checked the mail, we had received a package.  Lily immediately asked if it was for her and I told that is was for daddy.  She couldn't wait to get home to tell her daddy that we had a box for him.  When we got home, Billy was in the backyard mowing.  She screamed loud enough to get his attention.  He asked her what she needed.  This is how the conversation went:

Lily:  Daddy, we got a box in the mail today and it's for you.
Billy:  How do you know it's for me?
Lily:  Because it says D A D D Y!

Yes, she spelled out Daddy!  He was so proud!  And, I was very proud of my girl...but, why did I teach her Daddy before Mama?? Guess I will be working on that one next! :)

Happy First Birthday, Penny!

June 18, 2010
Today was our sweet Penny's first birthday.  Her presents were a new rubber ball and a package of bagel raw hides.  I think she was very pleased with both.

Roller Skating

For Lily's 4th birthday, she received roller skates from NaNa and PaPa Joe.  Well, we are just now letting her try them out.  We first started her out in the house on the carpet.  But of course she insisted that she knew how to skate and wanted to move on to bigger and better skating surfaces.  We cleared out the garage and let her go.  She did do very well.  No big crashes!  She enjoyed it very much and can't wait to do it again.

Father's Day Surprise

June 13, 2010
Billy received his Father's Day gift a little early this year.  He has been wanting a grill to cook us some healthy dinners.  His first try at cooking was pork chops...and they were delicious!  Can't wait to see what's next! :)

A Short Visit

June 11, 2010

After Maw Maw's Hawaiian vacation, she stayed with us for a few days.  We sure do love visits from Maw Maw!  We were able to do our favorite thing together...shop! :-)

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

This year we decided to spend our Memorial Day weekend in Shreveport.  We had a very full weekend!  Friday night we went out to dinner with MaMaw Pat and Uncle Ricky.  Saturday morning MaMaw Pat insisted on cooking us breakfast...which we always LOVE! :)  She then had a special treat in store for lunch...her homemade Chicken and Dumplings.  It just doesn't get any better than that!  Saturday afternoon we went to Sharon's to visit and swim for a few hours.  Saturday evening we went to the annual Mudbug Madness Festival.  We didn't eat any crawfish, but I did have a very yummy Natchitoches Meat Pie...oh so good!  Sunday, Sharon and Kevin had family and friends over for BBQ and swimming.  Lily had a blast with her cousins.  Monday, we visited NaNa and Papa Joe before heading back home.  Overall, a very good weekend! :)

As you can see, Lily's ready for swimming!

Lily's 4th Birthday Party With Friends!

May 15, 2010
Lily's 4th birthday party with her friends was at Kids In Action in Kingwood.  This year Lily has started playing with Barbies and wanted a Barbie party.  I found the perfect invitation for our little Barbie Girl! :)

A family picture on party day!

I ordered cupcake toppers that matched the invitation.  One side was the number 4 and the other side was a picture of Babie with Happy Birthday Lily written above.
