Summertime Is Here!

April 26, 2010
It's finally getting warm enough for some backyard fun!  So, Lily and I put on our swimming suits, got a bucket of toys and headed outside.  We filled the small pool with water, which was really cold, but Lily didn't seem to mind.  She had a great time splashing around with her toys.  She wanted Penny to jump in, but she was having no part of it.  I picked her up and put her in a few times.  Penny would stay in for about a minute and then jump out.  We had originally bought this pool for Penny to cool off in the hot summer, but she didn't mind sharing it with her sister, Lily.

Freckles are Beautiful!

April 25, 2010
Being that our sweet girl has red hair and very fair skin, we have always assumed that she will one day have freckles.  I have been trying to keep an eye out for the first to arrive...and it is here!  If you look very closely, you will see this little freckle on the side of her nose.  It's between her nose and her left eye.  Her beautiful aunt, who also has freckles, said that this is probably the first of many to come! :)

Daddy / Daughter Weekend

April 24, 2010
This weekend, Billy, Lily and Penny headed off to Shreveport.  I had to stay behind because I had a conference for school that I had to attend.  Saturday was Avery and Ansleigh's birthday party.  The party was held at Jubilee Zoo in Shreveport.  They had a petting zoo...which is always a big hit with Lily.  She said her favorite parts of the zoo were feeding the dirty pig, riding the big horse and jumping in the jumpy jump.

Old Mac Donald's Farm

April 14, 2010
Today we went on a field trip to Old Mac Donald's Farm with our school.  There were tons of farm animals to pet and feed.  They also had lots of playground equipment to play on.  This field trip could not have been any better!  The kids LOVED it!

Lily said riding the BIG horse was her favorite part of Old Mac Donald's Farm.

Lily was very determined to hold a rabbit.  She chased this one around until she finally caught it.  This little rabbit did not like being held.  But, Lily was very pleased with herself.

Here Little Lizard!

April 12, 2010
As I walked into the kitchen, I noticed Lily's bug box sitting on the counter with a green lizard inside.  Lily was so proud of her new friend.  She told me that her daddy had caught the lizard for her.  We let her keep it until it was time for bed.  When it was time to release the lizard, she of course wanted to hold it.  Here are a few pics of Lily and her lizard.  As you can see, holding this lizard completely filled her little heart with joy!  She is now on a daily search for more lizards.

Open For Business!

April 9, 2010

I have ventured out to a new business, Passion Parties.  I know a few were a little surprised when I told them, but I am very excited about my new consulting job! :)  Friday night was my first official party.  My very good friend, Angie Allen, hosted the party at her house.  She invited friends from Crosspoint.  I was a little nervous at the beginning, but it didn't last long.  The girls were very nice to me and so much fun!  I'm looking forward to many more parties! :)

Lily's Easter Egg Hunt

April 4, 2010
Lily had her own Easter Egg Hunt.  After Miss Sneaky found the eggs hidden in our closet, Billy hid 32 plastic filled eggs in the backyard for her to find.  She found all 32...with a little help :)

Very pleased with her find!

Lily and her sleepy smile!  She was in our bedroom bright and early, ready to go see what the Easter Bunny had brought her.

Just look at that face!  Barbie and the Mermaid Tale was her most favorite gift!

Penny was also very pleased with her new toys!

And of course, she too thinks she is a princess! :)

Time for Crawfish!

April 3, 2010
I have been craving some crawfish!!!  We decided to have a mini crawfish boil at the house.  Boy, that's a lot of work...but totally worth it!  Our friends, Erich and Jennifer and little Luke, came over to join in on the fun.  The crawfish were perfect.  Our sweet husbands did such a good job! Can't wait 'til the next one!

Our sweet little girl had no fear when it came to the crawfish.  She was picking them up without any hesitation.  Must be that Louisiana blood in her! :)

Yes, We Too Have A Ruby Girl!

April 1, 2010
While digging for our garden, we came across several earthworms.  The first thing Lily asked was..."Can I touch it?"  So, of course I told her that she could.  Little did I know just how much she was going to enjoy touching it!  I now feel very sorry for that poor little worm.  By the time she was through playing with him, he was in several pieces.  But, I do think he might have still been alive...maybe?

For some reason, she thought it was very funny to put the worms in between her toes!

After playing with the worms, I immediately brought her straight to the bathtub for a good scrubbing!

Our First Garden

April 1, 2010
The day has finally come!!!  Lily has been wanting to plant tomatoes since last summer.  And, believe me, we have been hearing about it since last summer!  So today was a big day for her.  This morning we went to Lowe's and Wal-Mart and bought everything we needed for our garden.  I did not realize there are so many different types of tomatoe plants!  We ended up buying 5 different types of tomatoes, green and red bell pepper and a watermelon plant.  This afternoon we all went outside and worked on our first garden.  When I was putting Lily to bed tonight, she asked me if she could eat one of her tomatoes in the morning.  This waiting game might be a hard lesson to learn.  But, I did tell her that we would check on our plants in the morning to see if they are growing.

We decided to plant our tomatoes in totes!  Hope this works!
