Children's First School- PK 3

May 20, 2010
Today was the last day of PK 3.  Lily had a wonderful year.  She loved her teacher and all of the new friends that she made.  This was truly a wonderful experience for Lily.  We are looking forward to another year at FPCK.

Lily's 4th Birthday Party With Friends!

May 15, 2010
Lily's 4th birthday party with her friends was at Kids In Action in Kingwood.  This year Lily has started playing with Barbies and wanted a Barbie party.  I found the perfect invitation for our little Barbie Girl! :)

A family picture on party day!

I ordered cupcake toppers that matched the invitation.  One side was the number 4 and the other side was a picture of Babie with Happy Birthday Lily written above.

Ms. Debbie was so sweet and wonderful!  She was the Party Director and entertained the kids for 2 hours.  She did an outstanding job!

Happy 4th Birthday, sweet Lily!

4 Year Old Wellness Exam

May 11, 2010
Today was Lily's 4 year old check up.
Weight:  34 pounds
Height:  40 3/4 inches
The doctor assured me that she is growing very well with no concerns.  However, she didn't pass her eye exam.  Not sure what that was all about??  She was asked to draw a circle, square, triangle and a X...which she did all very well! :)  Lily was all smiles and very cooperative at the beginning of the appointment.  Then came the tough part.  Turning 4 years old also means that you will need more immunizations...to keep you well, of course!  But, Lily was not the least bit pleased when she heard the word "shot"!  Having to hold down my screaming baby girl for 5 shots was heartbreaking :(  We did manage to get through it.  And I rewarded her with a special lunch at McDonalds!

The First Tomato

May 10, 2010
Since planting our tomatoes, we have been faithfully tending to them and watching them grow.  We were so excited when our first tomatoes were ready to be picked.

We let Lily pick and eat the very first one.

More Birthday Fun!

May 9, 2010
The afternoon of Lily's birthday was filled with more fun.  The waterguns were brought out and the kids LOVED this!  And as you can see, Paw Paw got in on the action! :)

Lily's 4th Birthday

May 9, 2010
The first words out of Lily's mouth this morning was, "I'm 4 today!"  She was very excited about turning a year older!  For breakfast she requested donut holes...which her daddy and Paw Paw picked up bright and early.  After breakfast, her daddy took her to Maw Maw's park to play.  And since it was Mother's Day, I was able to choose lunch...BJ's pizza :)  Maw Maw suggested that we go and vist Miss Roxie and her farm animals.  Lily had a blast!  As you can see from the pics, there were lots of animals to see.

Miss Roxie's cows and horses.

Miss Roxie introduced Lily to Miss Piggy Sue, her 600 pound pig.  We brought her some food...she was in hog heaven!

Lily loves ALL dogs...real or not!  She found these little guys in Miss Roxie's house.

Mother's Day 2010

This Mother's Day was very special to me because I was celebrating it with my mother.  I was also celebrating the birth of my daughter, my little miracle.

Weekend Back Home

May 8, 2010
This year since Lily's birthday fell on Mother's Day, we decided to spend her birthday weekend in Ball.  Going fishing was something that she had to do.  We forgot her fishing pole at the house, so she got a new Barbie fishing pole to keep at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's.

We celebrated Lily's birthday on Saturday night with a small family birthday party.

National Day of Prayer

May 6, 2010
Today is the National Day of Prayer.  To celebrate this event, our school sent prayers to heaven by way of balloon.  Each child was given a balloon with a piece of paper attached.  On this piece of paper, they were told to write a prayer.  The organizer prayed aloud and then we all released our balloons.  The kids loved doing this!

More Of Our Camping Trip

Brazos Bend State Park is known for having lots of alligators...and we didn't have to look hard to find them!  Here are a few pics of some of the gators we saw.  We actually got very close to a few.  Lily was very excited about seeing the alligators.  In fact, she was able to pet one!  The park has a Nature Center that has some of animals found in the park.  They had a tank with some baby alligators.  The park ranger took out an eight month old gator for us to touch and take a closer look.  Lily wanted to take that baby alligator home!

Our First Family Camping Trip

May 1, 2010
We decided to go to Brazos Bend State Park in Needville, TX for our first family camping trip.  We tent camped one night and had a wonderful time!  The park was very beautiful.  Lily was able to see lots of wildlife...including deer, alligators and lots of birds!

This is a picture of our camp site.  Our tent was set back under a canopy of trees.  The site also had a picnic table and a fire ring and grill.  Just what Billy needed for cooking our foil dinners.

Roasting marshmallows is a MUST on a camping trip!  Billy is showing Lily how it's done!

Now, this is the right way :)

We still have smiles after a very long night in the tent!  Penny stayed up all night guarding our tent door.

Searching for caterpillars and rolly-pollies was Lily's mission on this trip.  She ended up with 4 caterpillars and LOTS of rolly-pollies.  She did release them before we left the park.
